Here be Dave

Hello!

I work as Community Evangelist for Learning Pool - the public sector eLearning exchange. I make noise about the company and the great work we do, as well as finding interesting projects to get involved in.

My main focus is on technology enabled change within organisations, with a particular emphasis on the opportunities that come from social software.

I've been blogging about and promoting the use of social technology in government for five years or so. The current home of my writing on this is DavePress, whilst more personal thoughts are being recorded at Fragments.

I've got various profiles scattered about the web. Always happy to connect wherever you find me.

Hi Dave, interesting discussion involving you and Tim Davies that Michele just mentioned, If you're interested, assuming it goes ahead, stuff doesn't clash etc. it'd be good to have your involvement in a 'Citizen centred participation' session.

Hi Dave, is there a particular reason why the local group is the only one not to appear on the front page?

Hi Dave, good to finally meet you. Thanks for your help to me and patience with my pre-event questions. Hope to see you around.

Dave, I saw that you set up the LocalGov group. If there is a gathering, would be it be inappropriate for me to pitch the whole "consortium experiment" idea that I've been bouncing off of you and Dom?

Hi Dave,
I'd love to come down but I think I mightn't be able to. However, I've forwarded the dates to colleagues.

Hi Dave
Yes I had hoped to be able to make it along to Barcamp this month, but it's looking increasingly unlikely since my kitchen ceiling fell in over Christmas, my sitting room ceiling looks to be going the same way, and there's a major water leak coming from under my house somewhere....
I'm a definite maybe especially if my numbers come up on the Lottery!

Cranking up for UKGovCamp10 - #ukgc10

Hi all!

It's nearly October 2009. If we are running another BarCamp in January 2010, we ought to start thinking about it.

There isn't much detail at the moment, other than to say that sometime in Jan, we'll all get together in London on a Saturday to talk about government, data, internets, and other fun stuff.

Here's what you can do:

Teacamp tomorrow - time change

Please note that the teacamp planned for tomorrow at Cafe Zest in House of Fraser has been put back to start at 4pm rather than 2. We had quite a lot of feedback to say that coming out of work in the middle of the afternoon was a bit tricky, so hopefully making it later will suit more people.

New group: LocalGov

As there seem to be quite a few local government types signed up to both the Barcamp event and this network, I thought it might be nice to create a group for people to discuss local gov specific issues (I'm sure there must be some!).

Visit the group here and if you are interested, sign up!

Don't forget that anyone can create a group, for example for a geographical area, or maybe along special interest lines - so do go ahead if you fancy it!
