I'll be sure to read your draft and provide comments. I'm interested in how the conclusions you come to. In some ways, even though the measurement for digital engagement in the commercial sector can still sometimes be a dark art, you are essentially…
A sub-group of people involved with digital engagement from a strategic perspective: how are we persuading colleagues of the value of web 2.0 tools for engaging our stakeholders? And what does good digital engagement by government look like?
My paradigm is one of creative, writer, technologist, strategist, entrepreneur, and pragmatist.
I am the manifestation of education, inspiration and experience.
I have a B.Sc. in Telecommunications, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and twenty-two years of cumulative experience in engineering, technology, innovation, creative writing, web development, information and process design, and digital strategy.
Work and life have taken me from the nether regions of New York, to Boston, and for the last eight years, to London.
I’ve managed hundreds of mobile, writing and digital projects across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Australia.
I’ve worked for technology companies, digital agencies and most recently the UK Government as Head of Innovation for Directgov where I created the Directgov | innovate platform and as a Consultant on the development of the UK's Open data initiative data.gov.uk.
Twice in the last ten years I’ve founded and run successful digital agencies on both sides of the Atlantic. My efforts have culminated in awards for my projects, publication of my writing, and success for my customers.
I’ve nearly always worked at the verge of ‘what’s next’ and prefer to solve problems - not cause them.
You can find me at Cimex Media where I am Director of Digital Engagement. I'm also a Business and Enterprise UK (youth) mentor for Horsesmouth.
Having worked both agency-side and in Government I've an interest in how each can learn from the other, and how to get the best out of the relationship.
