I'm quite interested - while I really like the idea of crowdsourcing, I find myself being perhaps unfairly sceptical. In particular, uksnow was presented on a map with a psuedo-scientific data gathering method but was really highly subjective.

It's topical but will come around again before too long.
@pezholio has done an interesting geotagged mock-up based on data put out by @warwickwinter. Then there is the regular gritting updates that several councils are now doing.
