Hi, Some of you may be aware of a public project which started out as Bretton Woods 2.0 which has now become we20. The UK has presidency of the G20 in 2009. This means there will be various meetings of global leaders in London, including Obama, to try and find solutions to the global economic crisis.
We are building a platform to build a bridge between the G20 and the public. We20.org will facilitate groups of 20 people to come together around the country and world to discuss their futures in their own contexts. Results of these meetings will be aggregated and amplified at we20.org. We expect that we20 meetings will cover local, regional, national and international issues.
We have events specialists opening up a series of venues around London (and hopefully the UK) for we20 meetings during the first meeting of G20 leaders which takes place on 2 April.
We have some developers, marketers, networks etc involved already and are constantly looking for more people to join. We want to launch by early March which is no small task - particularly on the web-build side.
I would like to either participate in an appropriate session or if there is sufficient demand, run a session on g20 and progress of we20.org. As far as I know, a number of people at UKGovWeb are already involved with we20 or have shown interest.
Thanks
Paul
